Edward Fraser Lingham
« on: Saturday 01 October 22 13:05 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find out any info about an ancestor, Edward Fraser Lingham. I think he was born at sea about 1837 and married Charlotte Gladstone in London in 1862. He died in 1891 in Marylebone.

At some point I think he used the surname Gladstone-Lingham.

Any info about their children, if any, would be most welcome.

Thanks,
Dave J

Death notice in the Standard lists him as Edward Fraser Gladstone Lingham of 77 Elm Park Gardens

Marriage notice gives a bit more info

Edward Fraser Lingham - barrister at law and magistrate in Bengal
Charlotte, eldest daughter of Rev John Gladstone, rector of Stoke-on-Terne, county of Salop

so presumably when her father is listed as clerk on the marriage cert, they mean clerk in holy orders

Edward kept his links with India as he is recorded in a newspaper as a passenger on a ship due in soon, having boarded in Bombay

There's also an early notice of an auction of the entire house contents of Mr E Gladstone Lingham of 77 Elm Park Street in April 1888, Consists of high class and artistic furniture including Collard and Collard pianoforte, Bell organ and billiard table by Burroughes and Watt
