There's a baptism of Martha McLusky, born 8 January 1850, in Duntocher Free Kirk register on 7 April 1850, parents John McLusky and Susan Cathcart, and a baptism of Elizabeth McLuskie, born 20 April 1841, in the same register on 16 May 1841, parents John McLuskie and Jean McGown.

Also their Margaret was born about ten years before the wife of Reuben Gilson.

Dumbarton was where she apparently came from in most UK census returns, hence Dunbartonshire.
In which case the Old Monkland family is a red herring for which I apologise.

Better to have red herrings than no herrings at all  ;D

Son John was born in Dunbarton in 1870 - what is the address on that birth?

Debra  :)

How about this?

Death in Cardross, Dunbartonshire. Susan Thomson, married, died 30 April 1856, aged 39. Father John Kenna indexed on SP as Kennon), mother Elizabeth Kenna, maiden surname Baird. Registered by John Thomson, widower.

Address is hard to read - could be Thimble Street, Renton, Cardross.

PM me with your e-mail address if you want to see the whole certificate as I'm not allowed to post it complete.
