On the death certificate for Susan Kennon /Kenna, what is the cause of death? Something to do with with child birth?

I am not sure why you think John Thomson and Margaret Buchan have anything to do with John Thomson and Susan Kennon ??

Name: James Thomson
Gender:Male
Birth Date: 24 Apr 1856
Birth Place:Cardross,Dunbarton,Scotland
Father: John Thomson
Mother: Susan Kennon
Have you found this James on the census?

No, but there is a John Thomson, as per my previous reply.  I bought the cert from S.P.  But it is totally unreadable.  I have asked for a better image of it.  It could be either John or James.?!

As Susan Kennon had died the same year, iirc.  Perhaps his father remarried the Margaret highlighted in the 1861 Scottish Census.

John W. Thomson (a joiner, born abt 1831 in Inch WIG) married Margaret Buchan (from Greenock West) on 27 May 1853. Their first son, John was born in 1854.

From the information posted in reply #15, Susan (Kennon) Thompson died in 1856 Cardross, after given birth to a son named James a few weeks earlier.

Sorry, I don’t understand how you are connecting these people.

Marriage certificate at online Ancestry family tree.

All Saints West Gorton  Lancashire 18 Apr 1885
BEDSON  Enoch  44y  widower  labourer   res:  26 Mary St
Father:    Samuel BEDSON    deceased

GILSON Margaret   38y  widow  res:  26 Mary St
Father: John THOMPSON       deceased

Witnesses     WYATT  George    Mary Ann WYATT    (all parties sign)

Margaret signs as Margaret Beds Gilson....nothing crossed out, so maybe just Beds is error.

At Census 1881  the GILSONs are at 20 Mary St Gorton Lancashire
