Help!

Doing my friends family tree and i am unable to find his grandmothers birth certificate

Her name is Dorothy English Whewall
Born in 1917 in wolstanton.
I have a marriage to willism bateman but cannot find ger parents

The family felt there was something odd as i was told by them she was 'farmed out' to other relatives. It is believed her mother was called winifred

Not sure where to go from here
Btw tried every variation.

Have you bought a copy of her birth cert - no English/Whenwall marriage & hers is the only birth showing with those names

GRO online shows mmn Wheawall which seems to match better as there are many BMD entries for that spelling .  Still no marriage

The Bateman marriage is on freebmd - 1937 & she was shown as Whewall

You need to buy her birth cert unless you can find her on the 1921 census with her mother.  It looks as though a fathers name is shown on the birth cert

Thomas Wheawall  c1860 and wife Maria c1858 living Wolstanton can be found in census.

Think BC for Dorothy is needed to see if any of their dau is parent.  No dau Winifred that I can see. Although dau Ellen c1894 married in 1919 her dau was Mary Winifred Lodge b 1923.
