Family confusion, James Sanders,Toronto
« on: Sunday 09 October 22 17:37 BST (UK) »
Hi,
Bare with me. My relative James Sanders emigrated to Toronto and married Edith Brown in 1907. They had one son James William around 1912. They are all on the 1921 census.
This is where I get lost. I have been contacted by a ‘cousin’ but I am not sure the lineage is correct. I have James William Alexander Sanders b1912/14 as the son of James and Edith, but this may be wrong. They certainly had a son , James W living with them in 1949 ,so he can’t be the same James William that this ‘cousin’has, as his relative married twice and had a son, another James in 1943.The cousin also has an obituary for James W that doesn’t tally with the age or date that I have.
My question is , who is the son of James and Edith and did that son ever marry? I know there is a hundred year rule, so I maybe won’t get much info.
Sorry if it’s confusing.

It may help unravel some of the mystery if RK could find an obit or obituaries for these two.

Edith Florence Sanders - 1880 - 1954  FIND A GRAVE

There is another entry on the stone for Sydney Albert Brown. Looks like the brother of Edith.

This could be the Sydney Albert Brown - Sydney Brown - 1892 - 21 June 1913  (aged 21 years)
Death Place York, Ontario, Canada.

Sydney Brown 1892 England - 21 June 1913 York Ontario.  Railway Accident. Aged 21 years.
Father listed as William Henry Brown and mother Ellen Harvey.

This could be them on the 1921 census 150 Langley Ave. Toronto.

Jane C (should be James E)Sanders 39   Head
Edith F Sanders   41   Wife
James W Sanders 7   Son

This is the same address shown on the 1949 Canada Voters Entry - with James Snr, Edith, and James W Sanders. Jnr.
The same as on the marriage document for James to Dorothy Clarke.
