Perhaps James and Dorothy divorced. Dorothy remarried to Allen Quail.

On the 1972 and 1974 Canada Voters List Allen Quail (dispatcher) Mrs Dorothy and Miss  M-L Quail (student) 1974 Miss M L Quail is a secretary. all living 3201 Lawrence Apts - 110

Yes, I think so.   James W must have remarried to Sarah/Sadie after 1955.

Thanks so much. That has tied up the loose ends with Dorothy. I wasn’t aware that she remarried and had another child, so James had a half sister.
