Eliza Davies died 1931 - who lived at this address ?

I have received a death certificate for my 2nd great grandmother Eliza Davies. She died Feb 1931 at 24 Clare Street, Cardiff. I am intrigued to know who else, if anyone, lived at this address as it’s not known to me to be an address of any relatives and is in a different part of Cardiff to all previous addresses and family locations. It’s a large house I think so I’m wondering if it could have been a nursing home at the time as she was 87 when she died.
I can’t locate it on an Ancestry search by address and the last address I have for Eliza is in the 1921 census when she was living with an unmarried daughter in Albany Rd, Cardiff. She doesn’t seem to appear on any of the Ancestry Cardiff  registers in the 1920s.
Another odd thing is that I can’t find Probate for her although she was reasonably well to do.
Her birth full name was Sarah Eliza but she doesn’t seem to use Sarah in adulthood although I have tried to search with that too.
Any ideas re other occupants of that address in 1931 or just before would be hugely appreciated.

Who was the informant, does it give a different address for them

It’s her son Henry Davies my great grandfather and has his address which I knew.
It’s certainly possible she moved to this address after 1921 but it would seem an unusual move in that she had only previously lived in the Roath area.

1939 register has possibly 5 'households' living at the property

Who was the informant, does it give a different address for them

The family seem to have owned a few houses around Roath/Heath in the 1920s and 30s and different family members swapped around a bit.
Also Eliza’s parents owned 7 or 8 houses in the late 1800s. Some of those were in Grangetown and Pontcanna but not this address.
The family lost a lot of money in the 1920s as Eliza’s two surviving sons both worked in shipping and when the docks crashed they lost nearly everything.

Ah thank you, very interesting. It does look large. Can I ask how you found it by address? I will take a look and see if any names are familiar.

Thank you 😊. Nobody sounding familiar but that amount of people suggests that in 1939 at least it was split into rooms. I will take a stroll past next week when I’m back in Cardiff and go to Cathays library to see if any of the late 1920s street directories are there.

My grandfather never spoke about his family but I clearly once quizzed him when I was a teenager as I have got a piece of paper where I have drawn a very vague mini tree and for his grandparents I have written ‘Albany Rd’ the 1921 address. He must have told me that at some point. I also have all Eliza’s previous addresses so this Clare St one is mysterious. Especially as she would have gone there when quite elderly.
