« on: Friday 14 October 22 11:48 BST (UK) »
Hello
Am wondering if anyone can find for me a death/obituary notice for a William Osler, died on 10 September 1928 in, I think, Ottowa, Ontario. Born in Scotland 22 Jun 1868. Thanks.

Ottawa Citizen, 13 Sep 1928, p 4

https://www.newspapers.com/image/455621563/?terms=%22William%20Osler%22&match=1

“From his brother's residence [in Ottawa] to Beechwood cemetery, on Tuesday [11 Sep], at 2.30 p.m. Rev. P. W. Anderson officiated...
Had resided in Montreal for the past year.”

"Surviving him besides his widow and daughter, Irene in England, are two sisters, Mrs. W. J. Poe, Newport, Fifeshire, Scotland: Mrs. Wm. Reid, Prince Edward Island; two brothers, John, Long Beach, California, and George, of Ottawa."

Floral offerings from the following: "Wife and daughter, Irene, Mr. and Mrs. George Osler, and Phyllis, Miss S. M. Truman, Mr. and Mrs. L. J. M. Howard, Mr. and Mrs. A. Moor, Mr. and Mrs. N. Woods and family, Mrs. O'Neill and family, Mr. and Mrs. R. Frith, and Miss O. Heintzman, Accounts Branch, Department of Mines, Beechwood and Cemetery employes."

The punctuation makes it hard to know who “Irene” is.

Thank you so much AJM and Sandra. Managed to already knock down a few brick walls with this family thanks to the info you both provided. Never had the said William as married before but now know he was, married 1911 in England - Irene was his daughter. His wife Helen and daughter Irene remained in England after William went to Canada some time from 1921 to 1927. Thanks again.
