Thank you for your excellent research.   I am really grateful. 

It may be advisable now for me to post on the USA Board and expand your details, for instance, his death.  Of course, it appears his second marriage may have been bigamous, but with the Atlantic in between I suppose he had little to fear from the UK law.   

I shall start adding your information to his existing pre-1871 profile.
