Great, thanks for the update. It's just that I've never seen your name appear on the LSWLFHS forum.

The funeral directors still exist in Bedford Road with the same telephone number!

I do note that death notice in the Echo in 1987 only mentions a cremation no burial. Perhaps a grave was later bought following his wife’s death and their ashes placed together. When did his wife die?

Searching  for civil deaths gives the following possible:

Edna Wright , d.o.b. 19 Jul 1911,  death registered in February 1990, Halton Civil Reg District

There’s a record on Ancestry for a Edna Wright cremated at Liverpool Crematorium on 13 February 1990 which I believe is Springwood Crematorium. Her address is give as Norton Lodge Norton Village Runcorn. That sounds like a care home.

Stanley’s Cremation is also on Ancestry.

Sorry to disagree, but Liverpool Crematorium was Anfield Crematorium. As far as I am aware Springwood records are not available online (though if anyone can correct me on that I'd be really pleased!).

Her death notice was in the Liverpool Echo 9th Feb 1990, page 28 col1 and that says Anfield Crematorium and confirms her late husband was Stanley.

Edna died 7th Feb 1990 and is remembered in Anfield Crematorium Book Of Remembrance
http://anfield.alwaysloved.xyz/book?day=7&month=feb
(click on the next page link at the top a couple of times to get the correct 7th Feb page)

Stanley is also remembered in the Book, he died on 24th Jan 1987
http://anfield.alwaysloved.xyz/book?day=24&month=jan
(again, click on next page to get to the one with his entry on)

I may be wrong, but as far as I know the only way Edna and Stanley would have a 'plot' at Anfield is if their cremated remains were actually buried in a grave within the cemetery (possibly in a grave of a family member who had a burial rather than a cremation).

Burial of cremated remains was required to be recorded in the burial registers and also the in the grave registers. I doubt the cemeteries dept would be able to help with section/plot numbers as it appears that there is no record of a burial of ashes taking place for either of them.

I looked for an example for you to explain what I'd expect to see

A Thomas Blundell . who had died age 76 was cremated at Anfield 10 Dec. 1990. I know you have access to Ancestry, this is a link to his entry in the Register of Cremation
https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageviewer/collections/9041/images/49092_557030-00359?

and then his family must have chosen to have his cremated remains interred in Anfield Cemetery and that happened on 20 Dec and was duly recorded in the Register of Burials at Anfield Cemetery

https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageviewer/collections/9041/images/48242_557055-00316?

Both events,  cremation and burial of ashes, recorded correctly as expected (and required by the cemeteries)

Thanks Boo
Your T Blundell example takes me to Link page 5282 of 13682 for Anfield Cemetery
What I was then able to do at the bottom of the screen
Was change the page number and find January 1987 which was page number 103 of 13682 Burial number 16498
I could view the Burials for the period January 1987 to March 1988
The Microfilm has been scanned backwards
So you have to go backward page left to go forward in date Burial number 16578 on page 99 of 13682
No trace of Stanley Wright Burial
Lots of entries of Cremation Remains being Buried in Private Plots
Except the one we want.
In my own Mum's Remains she was Cremated in February 2001 and the Undertaker bought her plot in the Thornton Crematorium Cemetery but her Ashes remained for years next to Dad's Armchair at Home until a Headstone was erected and her Cask interned in that plot.
