There is a marriage for a Caroline Ward December Quarter St Saviour ref 1d page 8. Year 1869.

However all the other names on that page are from Bermondsey

2 women and 2 men Bermondsey also vol. 1d page 8

Only Caroline ward listed in italics for St Saviour No corresponding partner
Perhaps someone who knows more about the numbering system can help.

Thank you for all this, it gives me confidence I'm on the right track, I've been slowly going through it and building out this family tree. Jeremiah Murphy was born in Cork Ireland so I have hit a dead end with him. Ann Mary Elizabeth Murphy I believe died before the 1861 census as I can't find any trace of her. I've also found more children for her and James Thomas. I believe James Thomas died 1870 as he is not in the 1871 census. What happened to his son James Thomas in 1871 is still a mystery.

Yes James died in 1870 - see my previous post.

Children for James Serjeant and Ann Murphy
SERJEANT, JAMES  THOMAS     Mother - MURPHY
GRO Reference: 1852  D Quarter in SAINT PANCRAS  Volume 01B  Page 77

SERJEANT, HENRY  CHARLES     Mother - MURPHY
GRO Reference: 1854  S Quarter in SAINT PANCRAS  Volume 01B  Page 105

SERJEANT, EMILY  ELIZABETH     Mother - MURPHY
GRO Reference: 1856  D Quarter in SAINT PANCRAS  Volume 01B  Page 94

SERJEANT, ANNIE  LOUISA          Mother - MURPHY
GRO Reference: 1859  M Quarter in SAINT PANCRAS  Volume 01B  Page 92

In 1871 census: 12 year old Annie Louisa is in Sussex with her uncle and aunt Henry Curtis and Jane Sarah (nee Sergeant) – daughter of George the cabinet maker

It looks like the children of the family were split up after death of parents.

Neale – Cater – Kinder - Harrison: (Warwickshire & Queensland)
