Records of Quarter Sessions/Assizes, Early 16th Century?
« on: Tuesday 18 October 22 16:32 BST (UK) »
Hi, all. I'm new here, and researching the FitzRandolph, Burgh, and other North Riding families back in late medieval and early modern times.

Does anyone know if records might still exist for Quarter Sessions and Assizes courts for the North Riding for the period 1500-1520? I'm looking into a 1508 murder indictment (for which a royal pardon was issued in 1516). The event happened, I think, in West Hauxwell. TNA doesn't seem to list/have local court records going back this far, and I'm wondering, if some exist at all, where they might be: county record office? Borthwick Institute? Historical societies? Any insight so much appreciated! Thank you.
