Parish of Barnet : SLATER

Looking for any information on a Thomas Slater . Worked as a Tailor and lived in Finchley . Died in 1864. He also had a son named William Slater who was born around  1831 and  died  in 1863.

Looking at the 1851 census for this family (living in St. George, Hanover Square), Thomas was born c.1805 in Plymouth, Devon; his mother, Elizabeth, is also living with them - she was born c.1783, also in Plymouth.

EDIT: Hmm, it appears Thomas may still be alive in 1881, living in Finchley as a lodger, so the dates don't really work. Perhaps skwoogy can provide more information, like who William (b.1831) married.

The Thomas Slater died Mar.1864 Barnet was only 44 i.e. bc.1820 so wouldn't have had a son bc.1831.

William Slater married Mary Ann Clark/Clarke 11.8.1857 Finchley.

It appears that William Slater died between 1861-1865 as his wife Mary Ann Slater nee' Clark/Clarke remarried mq 1865 Bradford to David Inman.

Thomas Slater born 11th September 1804, baptised 16th June 1811 St Andrews Plymouth, parents Thomas & Elizabeth Slater.

Possible marriage of parents.
