Welcome to RootsChat.
Your post is about 2 men born almost a century apart in different families. It would be better to have a separate topic for each of them. You can change the content of your post within 24 hours of posting. I suggest you keep this thread for Edward Naughton and remove Broughton from the title. Start another new thread for Paterick Broderick. Otherwise, this thread may become long, complicated and hard to follow.

Do you know religious denomination?
R.C. parish registers on National Library of Ireland website:
R.C. parish of Tynagh, Diocese of Clonfert
https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0339

Loughrea R.C. parish
https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0336

Click on links under "more information" to see if there are registers for additional years.
Leitrim R.C. parish is between Tynagh and Loughrea parishes.

Church of Ireland registers exist for Loughrea from 1747.

How did you calculate 1803 as Ned Naughton's year of birth?
Have you found transportation or other convict records for him? When was he transported?
Was Ned single or married at the time of transportation? Did he marry afterwards?

Welcome  :)

There is a lot of information here, plus a Broderick connection, about Ned. I am presuming that it is researched. It quotes newspapers reports etc.

Perhaps the Broderick year is wrong? The link has Patrick Broderick b 1796, Loughrea (?). He is father to Ned’s wife.

I would think this is the marriage of Ned

Ned Naghton  to Mary Gantly - 1822
It is transcribed as February 17th but may be January.
Witnesses are Tom Gantly and  Pat Naghton.

Yes this is the right one. My Nana is descended from Ned and Ann Mary Broderick son John Thomas.

Is there any information of who Ned’s mother was?

I meant to ask, in my1st reply, if there was a connection between Ned Naughton and Patrick Broderick.
If I understood the Edward Naughton wikitree correctly, the families were connected twice in Australia. Patrick Naughton's son married a daughter of Ned Naughton.

There was a John Naughton in Tithe Applotments + a couple of Naghton entries.

It was February. There was only 1 wedding in January.
Wedding on the line above Naghton & Gantly was "Feby 14". There were 2 weddings on 17th and 8 on 18th, another in Feb. then none until May.
