James McGLONE 1891-?

Can anyone find this chap anywhere, please?

Seventh child and fifth son of Patrick McGLONE 1852-1929, and Margaret nee SMITH 1859-1942. James was born 1891, probably in Denniston or Westport area.

Can find him in school records and in NZ Gazette in 1916 for military callup. After that he disappears until his father's obituary in 1929 which places him on the family farm at Kimbolton in the Manawatu. After that nothing.

Have been through BDMs, Archives, Paperspast. There are other James McGLONEs around but do not fit with being born in 1891.

Thanks Wivenhoe, that would appear to be him. DoB matches that in the school records, plus birthplace, and where parents were living.

He must have gone to Sydney early on, and married in Australia as there is no marriage in NZ for him.

Found that James in electoral rolls at Jannali. Margaret appeared in 1954. There is a NSW marriage in 1953 for a James McGLONE to a Margaret RIELLY which could be them.

There are two sets of AIF records, one of which had second name of Aloysius, but birth place and parents the same. Wounded at Gallipoli and lost an arm.
