Masks again
« on: Tuesday 25 October 22 11:41 BST (UK) »
Some people are still wearing masks in crowded places, I know, but our local hospital has just issued a notice asking everyone to wear masks now when visiting the hospital.  They are obviously expecting a Covid/flu outbreak.

Our local NHS (South East) has never dropped the requirement to wear masks (providing them on entry to the hospital/GP) and still requires, that, unless you have mobility problems or need the services of a carer, you attend all appointments/procedures entirely on your own.

Pheno

PS  Must say that the above, combined with the use of telephone appointments rather than face-to-face has distinctly improved the appointment system, with most appointments happening on time now in my experience.

They were reintroduced a few weeks ago at the hospital where my husband goes. Also had to mask up and hand sanitiser at the covid jab centre yesterday

My GP surgery has never removed mask wearing, and has masks available if anyone has not got a mask.

Of the 6 hospitals I have visited over the last 3 months 5 have continued to insist on mask wearing, I’ve always arrived wearing a mask. The 6th I wore a mask but I was told I didn’t have to but I did.

You were expected to wear a mask at the Covid booster jab centre as well.

All the above in England.

I work in a neonatal unit  here in Australia and we have been wearing masks since March 2020. Originally the blue surgical mask and then n95. Since I am back from leave n95 only for airborne risks or isolation, I choose to wear one anyway. I still like to wear a mask in public.

Ditto, also in Australia, my husband is high risk so we've not really stopped wearing masks. We're almost the only ones still wearing them except when husband attends hospital where everyone is still taking the virus seriously and wearing a mask, then we feel right at home :)
