John Hewlett/ Hulett b1764 Wyre Piddle
« on: Wednesday 26 October 22 19:58 BST (UK) »
Hi
I have John baptised in Wyre Piddle in 1764 to William and Sarah.
He married an Ann. Has children: Josiah 1793, Anne 1799, John 1802 and Thomas 1804 also in Wyre Piddle.

I found a marriage between a William Hulett and Mary 1759 Wyre Piddle, but can’t find a marriage for a William and Sarah, nor one between John and Ann.

Can anyone see these marriages please?

Many thanks.

Hi
So there are 3 children baptised at Wyre Piddle 1750's /60's /70s
William 3.8.1760 s of William and Mary
John 29.7.1764 s of William and Sarah
William 1.4.1770 s of William and Ann

No burials

William marrying Mary Haves 17 Oct 1759
Mary marrying Thomas Hunt 27.2.1789
Joseph and Mary Tarlin 8 .12.1818

Extra child for John and Ann- Sarah 26.10.1806

Apparently Wyre Piddle was a chapelery of Fladbury
There in the NBurial Index we have

John Hewlet 1764- 22.5.1822 of Wyre Piddle
Mary Hewlett 1739- 27 June 1829 Wyre Piddle
William 24 Feb 1763 (I'm guessing the one baptised 1760 at Wyre P)s of William and Mary of Wyre Piddle.

Mary Hewlett 14.1.1792
James Hewlett  26 .5.1815 age 2 Throgmorton

Which gets us back to the marriages
Familysearch has this
John Hulit married Ann Nightingale Worcestershire 10.4.1793 but no info on where in Worcestershire. The only other marriage I can see which may be connected is a marriage at Throckmorton 11.4.1793 John Hulitt and Mary Nightingale by licence on the Bishop Transcripts on Ancestry. Could the licence show her as Mary Ann or just as Ann and the clerk made a mistake copying out the marriages?

If that is right is she the daughter of Edward Eames Nightingale and his wife Betty Ingles -Ann  bapt 22 May 1763 Church Honeybourne.
The couple married at Bretforton 6 Sep1759.of Cow Honeybourne.
I'm guessing they moves to Offenham where Betty died 11.11.1773
Leaving children Ann -1763  ,Betty bapt 15.6.1760,and Thomas 5.3.1762.

Possible burial for Ann Hewlett at Pershore Holy Cross 28.1.1838 age 75 years which would fit nicely

No burials for a Sarah wife of William Hewlet. There is an Anne  15 April 1827 at Pershore 82years  of Finedon Road. But I have been looking at the Bishops Transcripts are they correct? Could it just be one wife  Mary Ann ?

No definite sign of William's burial either.
There is a burial William Hacklett 25 Jan 1783 at Pershore St Andrew of Pinvin

Wow! Thank you Ciderdrinker. You’ve found lots there.
Just off to my mother in law to drop her shopping in and then I can come back and go through all of this.
Many thanks!

Checked on ancestry. Unfortunately, it does say Mary 😢
