William Rhodes Hopkinson is Emily Hopkinson's son (1889-1974). His grandma was Sarah Rhodes.

Coincidence or not? Ann Elizabeth’s (b 1857) marriage document (she mard 27 Oct 1878 Saint Thomas, Old Brampton, Derbs James Potter) said originally: Her father is John Hopkinson. There has been made the following correction in 1886: In entry no 204 column 7 for John read Robert. Corrected on 28th July 1886 by me ... in the presence of James Potter …
Could the same error have been made at John’s marriage???

It's an intriguing entry isn't it, especially in the circumstances.  I saw a James Potter as a neighbour in one of the census returns (can't remember which one, sorry).
