hello

Evelyn Edwards Abbott as born 4/3/1984 in Lanark Ontario Canada but I can find no more information on him .
Family story was he may have become a diplomat but don't know the basis for that . He was one of 4 children born to Charles Herbert Abbott 1858 Lowdham Nottinghamshire England. dies 1941 Lanark Canada and Elizabeth Edwards b 10/10/1857 Franktown Station Lanark. Dies 31/5/1941 Charleton Place Lanark Canada.

Siblings to Evelyn Edwards Abbott were Julia B L Abbott 1887-1897, John EE Abbott 1892-1892 and Robert Franklyn Preston Abbott 1898-1932

keen to learn more about Evelyn.
Many Thanks

On Anc the birth year has wrongly been transcribed as 1869

Thank you so much. Yes a typo. Year was 1894. How sad 2 of thine children died so young. Really appreciate your time in looking into this. Many thanks.

Just a correction - it is Carleton Place (not Charleton), lived there for 20 years.
Also, there is a village called Lanark within the county, you need to note that, if it is the town you are referring to.

The Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid shows his wife Elizabeth was buried in the Franktown Public Cemetery- Franktown is about ten miles from Carleton Place, on the way to Smiths Falls.  It’s a very small village, but is famous for the unfortunate death of the Duke of Richmond who was bit by his pet fox who had rabies.
No trace of a burial for Evelyn in Lanark County.

Ancestry has a death for Evelyn Edwards Abbott in 1896 age 2, b. Carleton Place, she was a girl! Evelyn is rarely used for boys on this side of the pond.  Is this your Evelyn?  Unfortunately no parents given, but from the Ontario civil records.
Oops, sorry, see this was already posted.
