Another Trallwn/m query I wonder if anyone can shed any further light on

On 03 Jun 1863 in Llanarthney, there is the baptism of Eleanor, the daughter of David Stephens and (Aberdauddwr) and Mary Davies (Trallwn, Llanarthney). In 1871 Elinor is listed as the daughter of Ann Davies (abt 1814, Llanarthney) of Trallwn. I am guessing Mary Davies was a daughter of Ann Davies and then Ann took her under her wing as HER daughter?

For info: Ann looks to be the daughter of David Davies (1776-1847) and Elinor Morgan (1774-1864) of Trallwn. Other children of theirs look to be Margaret 1815, David 1816, Rees 1819, John 1823 and Daniel 1834.

A Mary Davies b.abt 1837 is listed as a grandaughter of Elinor 1774 in 1851 at Trallwn and Mary Davies age 5 is with David and Elinor in 1841

1861 Census
John Morley, Head, Widower, 87, Blacksmith, born Llanarthney
Thomas Davies, Grandson, Unm, 40, Blacksmith, born Llanarthney
Address - Wainredegan

The census address "fits" the abode for Mary Davies' baptism, parents Thomas and Rachel, on 10 Feb 1869 (posted previously)" - Penwauntredegan"

Thanks. That ties everything together nicely.

Thomas Davies’s grandfather John Morley is buried Llanarthney on 26 Feb 1864 with a burial address Waunrhedegan, again tying this all together

I've been checking the Penwaunrhedegan (with variations) address which eventually became Cwm-login. It was a smithy in 1841 and Welsh Tithe map, Llanarthne, shows it as a forge - but it's not named.

Re. your latest post isn't there a David Stephens on the '51 Census with John Morley at Digoed?

Thanks, Yes David (abt 1826) was another grandson. He was the son of his daughter Rachel Morley (1804-1893) and her husband William Stephens (1776-1864) of Digoed. His sister Mary (abt 1829), John (abt 1831) and William (abt 1837) were also with them
