There is a transcription for a marriage in Dudley 27 June 1858 - Richard Millington and Charlotte Brown or Dorman.

Family Search say that the marriage took place at St Thomas, Dudley - no image available.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Are you sure about the 1855 birth of John Brown in West Bromwich?  :-\

I can see a registration in March quarter 1855, West Bromwich RD  - mother's maiden name given as Hudson (GRO website).

Sorry, me again!!

Have you obtained a copy of the Richard and Charlotte's marriage certificate?  That may or may not offer an explanation for Charlotte's surnames.  :-\

BumbleB, this is fantastic, thank you - I never expected to find both marriages.

I have sent for the wedding certificate for Richard and Charlotte but do not have it yet.

Thanks, Luke
