Amos Carr and Jane Wood married by banns on 4 Dec 1787 at Moor Monkton. Amos Carr was baptised in Hunsingore on 10 Feb 1759 s/o Richard Carr and Elizabeth.
I have baptisms of 3 children for the couple in Hunsingore, William 13 Mar 1793, Thomas 14 Jul 1794, Hannah 29 May 1796. I have no further information on Hannah, Thomas died before 1841 census, but William appears on 1841, 1851 and 1861 censuses, his age on those and his age at death in Jan 1871 are consistent with baptism date, so I have no reason to believe that the 3 children where baptised when they were 5 or 6 years old. So I think there are missing children.
Today I looked for any children baptised between 1787 and 1807 with Amos as father in West Riding. I found a group baptised at Fewston which fit nicely in the gap with no overlap with my 3 in Hunsingore - Amos is father but frustratingly no mother listed.
(There is another group in Dewsbury / Hartsead cum Clifton but their mother is Mary and they overlap so can be discounted. They fit with another Amos marrying Mary Fowler in Dewsbury in 1790)
Fewston seems a long way from Hunsingore but it would account for the missing children. I cannot find a third Amos marrying in Fewston or nearby who could have fathered them.
The Fewston baptisms are John 10 Aug 1788, Mary 20 Nov 1799 1789 (born 8 Nov) and Elizabeth 7 Mar 1791 (born 6 Mar)
Can anyone find another Amos or more evidence this set of Fewston children belong to my Amos, please.
