THOMAS FOUNTAIN WW1 1917
« on: Friday 04 November 22 23:24 GMT (UK) »
THOMAS FOUNTAIN died on 16 Sept 1917 after service in WW1 with the Royal Army Medical Corps. Aged 31, he was the son of Thomas (Sen) and Kate Fountain (nee Welsh). On 24 Jan 1911 Thomas married  Elizabeth (Lizzie) Flynn at Westport RC Church. At the 1911 Census, Thomas and Lizzie were living with his mother Kate and sister Annie at Quay Street, Westport. His father was not present on that date and may have been across the water. It is understood that after Thomas's death (at Quay Street) his widow re-married to a man named McGrath.
Thomas Fountain died as a result of his war service but he was never officially commemorated as a war casualty. Can anyone tell me where Thomas is buried? I would be grateful for any information.
