Firstly these names are connected to my mother's side of the family.

Secondly I have looked at Scotland people but don't have spare money for the credits.

Thirdly I tried looking up information about all these people including censuses but nothing would come up.

Thanks all for the information and can I ask was it just Scotland people u guys used or other sites too?

There are lots of sites that have indexes and transcriptions (some very unreliable indeed).

https://www.familysearch.org/en/ has indexes to births and marriages, but it is incomplete.

https://freecen1.freecen.org.uk/cgi/search.pl has (better) transcriptions of some of the census, but is also very incomplete.

The indexes at Scotland's People (SP) are free to search, as is the LDS transcription of the 1881 census.

SP is the only site where all the originals are available.

See https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=714261.0

Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Hi Ray

Possible that Margaret McLean was actually your mother's grandmother? Margaret McLean and Murdo Munro, as we had earlier, married in 1902.

This is your mother's birth on the index:

MARGARET MCLEAN HUNTER
1948
662/1 29
Bathgate

An Alexander Hunter Easton married a Margaret Anabel Munro in 1930 in Bathgate (ref 662/1 48).

I think you are on the right lines just missing some generations likely. These need to be confimed.

I would guess that you will find that:

Alexander Easton Hunter and Annie McPheat are likely parents of the Alexander who married Margaret Munro in 1930.

Possibly that Margaret Annabel Munro would be the daughter of Murdo Munro and Margaret McLean.

Details on these parents were discussed above. The more you work in to the 20th century, the harder it gets to view on line records on Scotlands People due to privacy etc.

Just looking at the death index on SP.

This looks to be your grandfather's death?

Alexander Easto HUNTER
Age 78
Mother's maiden name MCPHEAT
1983
705/ 176
Bathgate

And this would be the death of an uncle to you?

Alexander Easto HUNTER
Age 82
Mother's maiden name MUNRO
2013
774/ 291
Bathgate

A couple of more deaths showing for likely uncles to you. William Easton Hunter, 77, in 2012. Also Duncan Hunter, 71, in 2003. These are the obvious options, both in Bathgate. There are some more potentially showing elsewhere.
