Trying to locate the wife Uncle.

Matthew Morrison b.C.1890/1891 Glasgow, Scotland.
Father: Archibald Morrison.
Mother: Margaret formerly McLaughlin.

According to the 1891 census
Matthew is 8mo b. Glasgow Lanarkshire

According to the 1901 census
Matthew is 10 b. Glasgow, Lanarkshire

Both Census' taken in Scotland

Used Scotlands People:

1890 MORRISON, MATTHEW (Statutory registers Births 652/2 803) - Not the one
1890 MORRISON, MATTHEW WHITEFI (Statutory registers Births 496/ 234) - Not the one
1890 MORRISON, MATTHEW (Statutory registers Births 573/ 462) - not the one
1891 MORRISON, MATTHEW (Statutory registers Births 622/2 364) - Not the one
1892 MORRISON, THOMAS MATHEW (Statutory registers Births 282/2 783) - Not the one

Been told many moons ago that Matthew served in WWI but again I cannot locate him.


Can anyone help please?

Not found Matthew or his father Archibald in 1911.

English 1911 has a possibility b 1891 Glasgow & in India with the military.  2nd Battalion  Black Watch Piece 34987

WOW so India. Certainly could be him.

There was talk that Matthew is mentioned in Edinburgh Castle, although when we looked we saw nothing. My FIL was vague about his Uncle Matt but that Matt was his favourite. But that is about all I know.

I know Matthew & Morrison are both common names. Kinda hoping to find something on him.

SIDELINE:
I found Archibald on the 1911 ... a Railway Loco Work Labourer. My wife is devastated. She's been married to a Railwayman for 32 years  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
This Census tied up a couple of things.

Hopefully Matthew will be found.

Despite doing the family history I've never delved much in the Military stuff.

That does sound like Matthew (1911) Morrison.
