You might need to buy a copy of their marriage certificate;  it should give you his age, occupation and the name and occupation of his father.

Phil, do you know how many children they may have had. 1 son born in 1934 died in 2018 Bristol. Did they have 2 further children 1940 & 1942

Glady's with parents in Bristol 1939 with a dob 22.10.1897.

Trying to build a picture of her movements. Do you know when she died?

John

Added, A little more, he is William James Lewis. 1934-38 London electoral register's in Willesden.

There are  London electoral rolls that have the following living at 30, Priory Park Road, Willesden (Kilburn Ward) between 1934 and 1938
William James Lewis
Gladys Winifred Lewis

There are other residents at that address  including John and Mary O Brien
At that address in 1939 there is still  a William J Lewis dob 7th Oct 1900, he is married but no Gladys there. Also a Muriel Lewis born 1915 with married name Waters /Wathers.
Amongst others at that address John & Mary O Brien so it seems the same address as in 1938.

iN 1933 living at 6 Victoria Villas, Willesden
Gladys Winifred Lewis
William Lewis
William James Lewis

It may not be your Gladys and William but a possibility?

Believe Muriel Lewis born 1915 is the little sister of William James Lewis.

We know from 1939 register that Gladys Winifred Lewis was back in Bristol with her parents and probably her son Derek Edward Lewis (born 1933 & died in Bristol 2018). Many wives and children moved out of London during the war. The deaths of William James and Gladys in Bristol look good

William James Lewis & Muriel can be found on the same 1921 census image.
William James Lewis can be found in 1911 census with siblings, one of whom is Merlin Lewis.

Father William is also an insurance man in 1911/21 census

The only issue is that William Lewis snr has a spouse called Ruth in 1911, married less than 1 year. So Muriel's mmn shouldn't be Richards
