The death record for Wilhelmina E Jacobs in New York states that she was 56 years 8 months and 20 days old. The Wilhelmina I found in Stavanger was born 14 May 1856. If you deduct the difference the birth date according to the New York one is incorrect by exactly 1 year, correct to May 14. I believe these 2 Wilhelminas are one and the same.

Ian thank you I really appreciate it.
I think you may have something that I hadn't seen, I have Willemina marrying James Edward Jacobs in 1877 , however looking at my tree, I have not been able to find this marriage so at some point she must have moved to NY and married a Jocobs but not the one Ive been looking at, I your information tree on ancestry and see what I can find out from that, and fingers crossed.....

So am I right in thinking that Whilelmina b 1856 was the daughter of Axel Vilhelmsen and Sille Olsdatter, and Whilemina 1856 married Ole Larsen in 1876 in Stavanger, they moved to New York after this date and then she gave birth to Serine in Norwegian Seamen's Mission 1887?
Can you take a look at this on ancestry, are you able to translate for me, is it the parents that were born in Stavanger?  it looks as I can see that the child is Valerie C Larson born 1896 - would this be right?

This information is correct.
But to be honest I cannot get my head around all this. It does look like that Wilhelmina E Jacobs is the Wilhelmina Wilhelmsen born in Stavanger but this Ole Larsen and Wilhelmina Wilhelmsen/Akselsdatter moved around a lot having children in Stavanger and New York.
I don't think there will be a ship manifest for this family as Ole Larsen was a seaman and most probably arrived in New York via a sailing ship he was working on.

2 other children born in Stavanger:
Rassimine Olava Cecelie birth 1877

Ole Wilhelm birth 1882
