Looking for the parents of George Phillips as below. Any help would be fantastic..
Regards,

Gary
Australia.

John The Evangelist, Langley

#George Phillips
His 1st wife was Sarah Smith, banns read 17,24 October and 1 November 1758 the vicar neglected to put the marriage in the register.
There are a great many gaps in the entries for Langley

They had children
Mary 1759, George 1761, Sarah 1763, Elizabeth 1765.

At some point Sarah dies after 1765 and before 1772, as I said many gaps in the register.

#George Phillips who m. as a Widower. John The Evangelist, Langley
Marriage -- 6 Feb 1772 #George Phillips & #Mary Toofs both single and of parish
Marriage The Tofts were from Hertfordshire.

Marriage

Also looking for any info re the following.

Cheers,

Gary.

Mary Simmons m. 3 March 1801 #George Phillips & #Mary Simmons (hard to read her surname) both of the parish (can't find baptism or mention of Mary in PRs before parish)
One Witness was Bailey Simmons The name Simmons is meant to be Simmance.

There is no marriage in the PRs for a Phillips/Peacock in 1825, there is this one..
James Phillips married Eliza Peacock at St Dunstan in Wendon Lofts see my previous post.

He was living in Elmdon at the time and she was of the parish.
They did NOT marry in Langley.

Stanstead Mountfitchet Parish registers ERO
28 January 1803 Eliza baptized daughter of Samuel and Ann Peacock.
St John the evangelist, Langley
2 March 1825
Thomas Phillips & Lydia Monk both single and of parish.

I've had a look through the Stanstead PRs and there is an Elizabeth Peacock baptised in 1803, but it is definitely not Peacock on the marriage, so perhaps someone has added Peacock because it ties in with the age given on the census (48). On family trees that I have looked at with a Phillips/Peacock marriage, they are saying that it took place in Langley with GUESS? wrote beneath so it shows that it hasn't been researched properly.

Thanks very much for that. I cannot find Eliza Bonneton perhaps it might be Bonython. Is it possible she was a Peacock & m & Bonneton.

Mary 1759, George 1761, Sarah 1763, Elizabeth 1765 but cannot find any marriages etc. The whole recording of marriages etc seems to be a mess.
