I have attached a couple of extracts from Griffith, in case you haven't seen them, showing the link between the Llwyeni and Chirk trees.

Re. Welsh Journals search for "ursula salusbury" (note spelling).
The third hit  "Bye-gones" of interest.

Search also for "thomas booker" - of interest is the 2nd hit of four (pages106/7 -Sheriff's of Montgomeryshire...).

When checking Thomas Booker, pages 106/107, check footnote 5 on page 107

Somewhere amongst the Welsh Journals I've referred to is the marriage marriage of an Edward Lloyd, Beth Lloyd, Montgomery, widower and an Elizabeth Calfe.
FindMyPast has the licence details (2 records), 20 Jan 1681/82**, and a marriage record (transcript only) for 2 Feb 1681**

I think you need to check if the Booker and Parry marriages might involve a different Edward Lloyd? I haven't read in detail but am getting that feeling.

** think there may be some confusion re the year - the old calendar.

Several trees on Ancestry have the marrige to Elizabeth Calfe, which was on 2nd February 1682. There is also an image, which confirms the date, using the old calendar.

They also say that Edward was born in 1610, son of Edward and Ursula, and died in Llanidloes in 1696.

The children listed, of Dorothy Booker, are Catherine (1653-1737) Martha 1651 (married Roger Kynaston), and Ursula (1671-)

No guarantee that they are correct.

Thanks all for your info - a lot to take in

Returning to the original topic. Is it correct that Edward Lloyd (son of Sir Edward & Ursula Salusbury) m Elizabeth Wittewronge (her family is the subject of my research) by Licence 6.4.1687 (from the Archbishop of Canterbury) at St Nicholas, Harpenden, Herts.?

The family connections Wittewronge, Salusbury, Myddleton, Saltonstall, Vanacker, even Lloyd all suggest they moved ib the same circles (as well as business) knew each family and inter married

If Katherine m Lloyd in 1687 at the age of 44/5, why would she require her father's consent?

It was stated that Edward was a widower at his m with Katherine, so who was his previous wife & children, if not to Dorothy Booker. Is the list of 5 children given, including Ursula & Edward, incorrect? Sir Edward's Will refers to gchildren Edward & Lewis

There also seems to be confusion as to Edward's b/bap - 1623 or 1631. If he was the son of Sir Edward & Ursula - Wiki has their m as 1631 (as stated) he couldn't have been b 8 years previous!

My reason for researching a spouse who m into the family is to add additional info to the Tree, if possible - the Lloyds appear to be an interesting family & worth researching. Of course if the wife d, there are the children who have to be cared for by someone (depending on their ages) I don't know when Elizabeth Wittewronge d?

Does a Will for Edward exist, I wonder?
