I've just found a folder which contains misc records on Montgomeryshire families by Bill Baxter. It's about 15 or so years old. I'll look through it but could take a while.

It is in Welsh Wills but the Nat Lib are having problems at the moment so the searches aren't working correctly

Thanks v much for all your info.

It appears Edward did m Catherine/Katherine (spelt K by her father Sir John) It appears he was bap 13/18.12.1631 (just after his parents m 31.12.1631 St Mary, Aldermanry, London, (a/c ro Wikip....

As noted on the m licence of 1687 Edward was a widower at 55 and it appears he m (1) Dorothy Booker/Brooker a/c to several sources and they had children - 1 of whom gson Edward is mentioned in the Will - not sure about gson Lewis. I noted somewhere that Edward & Katherine had 2 kids - Lewis could have been theirs, though Katherine would have been v nearly 45 on her wedding day

There are only brief mentions of Berthllwyd (Berth Llwyd) in Griffith's Pedigrees, mainly about Jenkin Lloyd.

There is a section about Berthllwyd in Collections Historical & Archaeological relating to Montgomeryshire vol 4: https://www.google.co.uk/books/edition/Collections_Historical_Archaeological_Re/J5cxAQAAIAAJ?hl

The main article in on p378, although it doesn't mention Edward b 1631. You can search inside or download a PDF

There are also mentions of the family in vol 6 and 26 and other books in Google Books

David

P.S. This link mentions Edward, but not his family  https://archive.org/details/pedigreesofmontg00rode/page/108/mode/2up

Thanks for this - Google Books can be very helpful on FTs

It appears that Ursula Salusbury (or however spelt) gmother was the dau of Sir Thomas Myddleton. He was the gfather of Mary Myddleton, the 1st wife of Katherine Wittewronge's father Sir John W - they did say there was much inter marrying in that family!

Unfortunately no mention of Edward's 1st m (before Katherine)

Simon

The National Libray also has the Chirk Castle Estate papers, which, of course, includes much of the Myddleton's affairs.

I found them very useful when I was researching two of my 'noble lines'.

Are you familiar with Welsh Journals?  https://journals.library.wales

Searching for "sir edward lloyd" (include the "  " as part of search key) returns 56 hits. Some will confirm the parents of Edward born around 1631. The "hits" cover more than just the Sir Edward born 1631 - but seem to apply to the same family.
Alternative search keys are (a) berthllwyd (b) wittewronge but I haven't checked the "hits" returned.

Pob lwc
