37 BRIGADE in 1877

Can anyone tell me about the 37 Brigade during the period around 1877 as I can find no mention of it at all on 'Google' for that period in history?

I found reference of it as follows:
July 1877 - There was a Court Marshal for a Private Richmond House in 1877 of the 37 Brigade in Dover. Received 4 August, trial to be held 27 Aug 1877.

It's possible this refers to a young man who features on my family tree, so I am really hoping that from this sparse piece of information, I can find out what regiment he served in and where.

Since posting the above, and although I don't completely understand, I think I've discovered that the Brigade No 37 (Gloucestershire) was part of the City of Bristol Rifles? How can I now find out where they served? Family hearsay is that Richmond Young (b1853) was killed in action in Afghanistan but that may have become embellished through the years. I just don't know how to proceed with so little information to go on. Any advice will be most welcome.
