Looking for Birth or Baptism record Dublin about 1874
« on: Wednesday 16 November 22 17:02 GMT (UK) »
i would be very grateful for any help locating the birth or baptism of Dora Noonan. She is said to be born in Dublin on06 March 1874. I have contacted the GRO in Dubln, there is no one of this name or any other forename called Noonan for this date. Her marriage certificate in London in 1900 records her father as William Noonan a joiner deceased. In the London census in 1901 she gives her birthplace as Ireland, in the 1911 census the birthplace is Dublin, the 1921 census the birthplace is Liverpool. In the 1939 register her birth date is given as 6 March 1874. The family did move to Liverpool, and she has several brothers and sister some born in Dublin Ireland and some in Liverpool  But in 1881 she is with her sister and brother-in -law Georgina McCormick nee Noonan
in Newcastle UK, she is 8 years old and her birth place is Ireland. By 1981 she is lodging in Liverpool and the birthplace is Ireland.  By looking at brothers and sister baptism, I believe her parents to be Elizabeth Lawler and William Noonan. I have searched for 3 month now and nothing comes up. Thanks for any help.

I am curious re Georgina being Lawler?

I will carry on looking.

Yes I realise that.
You posted that Georgina McCormick was nee Lawler so I thought she was born before the Noonan/Lawlor marriage.
When I found the marriage,  I posted to help others and realised that Georgina was Noonan and not Lawler  ;)

Just another correction - Georgina baptised 1857 not 1859. Her baptism - March 27th 1857

the others could be James in 1859 Dublin, Susan 1865 Baptized 1 Dec 1865 Dublin, Also Thomas born in Liverpool 1863, Edward 1868 in Dublin, Peter in Liverpool in !875. And also William Noonan 1857/8. And I did wonder if he was the father as he appears on the Liverpool Census with his parents and he is a joiner as well. But again cannot connect him to Dora.

I saw Peter’s baptism in 1875 -giving date of birth as 15th October but I can’t see a birth registration. Do you have that?

I wondered if Dora was Georgina’s child perhaps, although she would only be 17yrs.
