Info wanted on the Dea's and O'Dea of Falkirk
« on: Saturday 19 November 22 13:49 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone have any information on the Dea's and O'Deas of Falkirk?

My great grandad Patrick Dea was born in Falkirk in 1902. He has 11 other siblings some we haven't found information for except there names and year of birth from Scottish censuses. Three of the 12 are half siblings who's mother was called Edith Coulston.

The children of Patrick DEA/O'Dea and Margaret Kane are :
John Patrick Kane Dea 1897-1941
Felix Gavin Dea 1899-1954
Margaret Kane Dea 1900-1965
Patrick Dea 1902-1953 (My great grandad)
Christina Dea 1906-1956
Thomas 1909-1957
Helen Mary Dea 1911-1992
Annie Dea 1913-1954
James Dea 1916-1996

The children of Patrick DEA/O'Dea and Edith Coulston are :
Robert Thomas Dea 1921-1922
Edith Patricia Dea 1922-1992
Edward Coulston Dea 1926-1996

Were missing loads of information on some of the siblings family like husband's or children so any information is greatly appreciated.

Regards
Kirsty

I see that you have death dates for them all.

Do you have copies of the death certificates? If they died in Scotland the death certificates will tell you the names of any spouses. You can then use the spouses' surnames in the death search to look for possible children.

You can download death certificates more than 50 years old at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk. It's pay-per-view but modestly priced compared with the corresponding services in most parts of the world.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
