Not getting anywhere at the moment.

I am intrigued at the discrepancy between the CWGC info stating that he was 27 but if you check the gravestone it gives his age as 23.  He was either born in 1892 or 1896.

There is a medal card available from the National Archives for £3.50 but how much information it will give I don't know.

I've just found this:-

If Harry was one of eight children then has anyone traced all his siblings and their descendants?

Is this the correct Harry in 1901?  He is stated as being aged 8 and born in 1893.

If the family I have found is correct then this is his birth registration:-

DUNN, HENRY       LUMBARD
GRO Reference: 1892  S Quarter in BARTON REGIS  Volume 06A  Page 52

Presumably known as Harry by the family.

Thanks all. Harry's mother was Florence Keepin, his father possibly William bit he could of been illegitimate.

They've got his date of birth wrong on the headstone.

We know his medals were sent to his brother in Canada (Harry's was one of four children) and that's a line on enquiry were investigating. Still no picture of him unfortunately.

BBC Points West have recently done a feature on this that we were part of.
