Michael McGinley
« on: Monday 21 November 22 19:01 GMT (UK) »
Michael McGinley a Lighthouse Keeper died in Glencolmcille in 1941 age 66yrs. His wife Edith Louisa nee Curling was 30yrs younger than him born 1904. They married in Kinsale Co Cork in 1925. I cannot locate a death for Edith McGinley. I am also wondering what family they may have had. I do know they had a son Sean who accidentaly drowned in 1930 age 4 while they lived in Sligo. Appreciate any help. Thank you

As she was only 37 when he died - it's possible she remarried.

Equally possible she either married 1946 or died after 1971 (Irish civil marriages only online until 1946 and deaths until 1971)-

As you can see from the above link, birth less than 100 years old are not online.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

There is a newspaper snippet - September 1955

……..  Miss Maureen McGinley second daughter of Mrs Edith McGinley and the late Mr Michael McGinley …
I can’t access more to find the bridegroom’s name - surname likely to be Fitzgerald.

Re children of the marriage.  There is a partial tree on Ancestry showing 2 children but marked as private.  Second daughter suggests there was an earlier daughter

If you know was marriage in Ireland or elsewhere? I came across a tree with sparse info but had a Maureen McGinley death in Ontario Canada 2005 with correct parents. Thank you
