Possibility in 1926 Alberta but much further north in Ashmont.  Sharing land with John McKenzie.  Land description 14 59 10 4.  There are Homestead Records for a John MacKenzie but not James Henderson.

Alberta death index has a death listed for 30 Oct 1936 St. Paul (Ashmont is in the county of St. Paul).  Nothing to connect it to your man though.

The Edmonton Public Library has a copy of a local history book that covers Ashmont.  Perhaps they would look it up if you contacted them to see if it referenced James Henderson.

Found an online index for the above book and it does not include James Henderson or John MacKenzie
