The address given is her daughter's address and she may have given up her mother's house in 1950 if not before so the address does not necessarily give us clues to where her husband was buried. She died on 9th July 1954. I don't know when or where her husband died
"
She died in 2154 Barloch Road, Glasgow in July 1954, a widow of John Paterson - a watchmaker.
Was this some kind of home or hospital?"...
Then you say...
"The address given is her daughter's address"...
You also say...
"she may have given up her mother's house in 1950 if not before"...
It seems the house wasn't 'given up' as it was her mothers'
'usual address' at the time of her death...
"Her usual address was given as Apsley Street, Glasgow"...
The obvious thing to do would be to find the DC for husband John Paterson & find where he was likely buried & follow on from there...
"the address does not necessarily give us clues to where her husband was buried"...
Which is far from what I suggested...
When/where did her husband die?
It would be an idea to chase his burial up as Rachel may be buried with him.
...
All the more so as you said...
