I am struggling to find William Goostree b c1958 n married Clara Julia Mayes they had a son Ernest Mayes b 1886.

Now i got this of family members and I am trying to verify the information myself but struggling to find.

What have you got and what are you searching for?

Was William born in Enfield (Edmonton), Middlesex? Various sources -  Census/Army Service Records -have him as a Carman or Labourer. Married Clara Julia Mayes Qtr4 1888 Edmonton, Middlesex Vol 3a, page 378 so you're right the son would have his mother's surname.

He was born 3/3/1858, bp.28/3/1858 Enfield, son of Daniel and Elizabeth

Daniel Goostree married Elizabeth Wilkinson Mar.qtr.1855 Edmonton.
