I am looking for the marriage date of my greatgrandfather  Ellis Lund born 1889 in Pocklington Yorkshire.He married Ellen who might have been adopted in Hull as a child. My grandmother was born in 1923 and had older siblings so their marriage could have around the  time of WW1.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to trace the marriage you are looking for,
but I did notice that the Civil Registration Index on Ancestry shows that the
birth of William Ellis Lund was registered in the district of Pocklington in the
Qtr to Mar 1889. If this is 'your' Ellis, I wondered if his marriage would also be
in the name of William.

Also, I don't know if you've come across the Yorkshire BMD site
(www.yorkshirebmd.org.uk), but this may prove useful as it has some records
not yet listed on Ancestry/FreeBMD (particularly from 1910 onwards).

Hi,
he was named William Ellis Lund but known as Ellis.Un fortunately the marriege is still not found on the bmd site for Yorkshire.
