1841/51 census help pls - Rosskeen
« on: Tuesday 06 September 05 19:57 BST (UK) »
If SKS has access to a census index for Rosskeen, 1841 or 1851.  Could you please look for any McIntyre family.
Sorry, I don't have the first names, but the surname McIntyre should stick out like a sore thumb in Rosskeen.
Originally from Mull, Argyll and living in Rosskeen by January of 1841.  Not sure if they lived to see the 1851 census.
Any help at all would be appreciated.
Stewart, Moore, Murray, McLure, Beaton, McIntyre, Sinclair, Barr, Burnside, Welsh, Barker, McGibbon, Harrison, Gallacher/Gallagher, Hedley

hi there, the 1851 index for rosskeen has the following info...
volume: 60, enumeration district: 5, page: 15.

mcintyre elizabeth 41 nairn nairn
mcintyre peter 48 nairn croy
mcintyre robina 11 sutherland clyne
mcintyre william 18 r & c edderton

given that they are all on the same page number and there are only 4 in the whole of rosskeen, it would appear that this is one family group - i hope they are who you are looking for...

kind regards,
Lorna.

Thank you!!  My fingers are crossed that Peter McIntyre will turn out to be the Brother of my GGG Grandmother Flora.

Now I have some names..... I can further the investigation.   8)
