Help with birthplace
« on: Saturday 03 December 22 09:06 GMT (UK) »
Hi This is an extract from the 1921 Scottish census for what I believe is my grandmother Ellen Wilson. I need some help with the birthplace. I Know she was born in Ireland, but I always thought it was Belfast and have records of the family in Belfast including her parents marriage but looking at this it seems to be indicating Dublin Ireland. Am I reading this correct, or do I have that wrong. I have nothing in my records indicating they came from Dublin. The D in line 23 is nothing like line 19.

It's Antrim, Ireland. Belfast is in both Antrim & Down so this entry doesn't preclude her being born in Belfast.

I read it as Antrim, Ireland.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Parents' marriage gives both living in Greencastle but her father is John McKinstry and they married in  St. Mary's R.C. Church, Whitehouse-
