Thank you for all of your help and ideas! I'm glad to see I'm not crazy in thinking it might be "trucker," but "printer" and "fruiter" are also great ideas.

Much to my agony, I haven't been able to find anything about "Edward Stuart Clark" besides this birth certificate. In fact, before I dug up this certificate, I thought his name was George Stuart Clark, since my great-grandfather went by George Stuart Clark III. This certificate opened up a lot of questions for us, since it's undeniably the day he was born, the name of his mother, and the correct location, but his name and his father's names are different from what we had always believed.

I might make another post in a thread better suited to those kinds of inquiries asking for any help or advice on figuring out that mystery. I know this one is just for deciphering!
