Elizabeth Partridge born circa 1798
« on: Monday 05 December 22 23:16 GMT (UK) »
I'm looking for my 3xGreat-grandmother Elizabeth Partridge. She was baptized circa 1798 in Leighton Buzzard to William and Ann Partridge. I cannot locate her in any census but can locate both her daughters Sarah (My 2xGreat-grandmother) b 1838 in Bozeat and Alice born 1841 in Bozeat in the 1851 census living with James Tomkins and his wife Maria (nee Partridge), Elizabeth's sister. Elizabeth was a single woman. I've checked, and I don't think she got married and cannot locate her burial record. I'm wondering whether she was in the workhouse in Bozeat and maybe the records didn't exist or haven't survived?

Thanks,
Buffalito

Just wondering how you know Elizabeth's approximate age and parents if you don't have her in a census or a marriage?

There are a few possible baptisms for Elizabeth PARTRIDGE, including later than 1798 (43 is not old to be having a 2nd child, but as a single mother - I think it more unlikely). There are also a couple of possible burials at Bozeat, but younger than your Elizabeth (if 1798 is correct).  :-\

Isn't Maria TOMPKINS (nee PARTRIDGE) the daughter of Thomas and Mary, baptised at Bozeat 7 Apr 1811? In this case Elizabeth PARTRIDGE is more likely to be the dau of Thomas and Mary baptised at Bozeat on 26 Jun 1814.

Modified to add:
Mary PARTRIDGE aged 70 is with James and Maria TOMPKINS and their family in 1841.

Possible burial for Elizabeth PARTRIDGE at Bozeat on 9 July 1845 aged 31.

Another burial at Bozeat for Elizabeth PARTRIDGE on 29 May 1842, but the age is 26.

Yes, this looks like her. In 1851 it looks like the same family but with my 2x G-grandmother Sarah Partridge b circa 1838 and her sister Alice b circa 1841 living with their Aunt and Uncle.
HO107/1743/129 page 16&17. I must've missed the 1841 census.

The burial in 1842 looks like Elizabeth Partridge (nee Warner) who married James Partridge but 1845 could be the one.

Thanks.

After just a quick look I couldn't find Elizabeth, or her children Sarah and Alice in 1841. Might have another look.  :)

Alice wont be on the 1841 Census.

I see a bapt for Sarah, Mother Elizabeth but not for Alice.

1841 Sarah is possibly under Sarah Patridge age 2 (1839) with other Partridges?

Yes, Alice was baptised 24 May 1840 at Bozeat "natural dau of Elizabeth PARTRIDGE".

And I think the Sarah (2) with James and Maria in 1841 is their daughter (cousins with the same name).  :)
