The other Donald Jack family has two bits of info he died in 1859 and another Donald Jack from Knockbain, a pauper, died aged 66 in 1861.
I really don't know what this means. What other D.J?
Is one of these yours? or neither yours?
It is quite possible your Donald Jack died at sea, or abroad.

Thanks Neale.  I did not know about the Seamans Masters Certificate dated 25 Nov 1852.

I meant the other Donald Jack builder-mason died in 1859, I had his death cert.  James Jack and Margaret Gollan his parents.  Since he was from Knockbain the other death cert. 1861 was probably a relative of some kind.  Not my family.

My family: it seems like Hugh Fraser and Elspet Clark are James Fraser parents.  James was a farmer.
Isobel Clark parents Charles Clark and Christian Munro?

Donald Jack the seaman is mine.

Neale, thank you for posting the Master's Certification.  Donald Jack is a direct ancestor of mine.

Unfortunately the certificate is not very clear to read here, because I had to reduce the size to post it. If you want a better copy you can PM me.

There is a death registration in Ipswich Suffolk in 1872 for a Donald Jack, age 69 (born 1803)
This may or not be your Donald – as a sailor, he could have died anywhere.

I've PM you thank you.

Regarding the 1872 death.  I think that is an entirely different family.
