Thomas Skudder

In need of help please
I am looking for the burial for Thomas Skudder b 29 June 1832 England D 4 March 1909 Astley Canterbury New Zealand. I have found his funeral notice from the Lyttelton Times 8th March 1909 page 12 which states he was buried Tuesday 9th March 1909 COE Cem Rangiora, but they the cemetery can not fin either Thomas or his wife Hannah there any suggestions or help very much appreciated. Hi Kim,

His death certificate will confirm his date and place of burial and the name of the funeral director.

The latter's records might still be held by the same company if still in business, or if they were bought out at some point by the new business.

There is a certified copy of the death certificate as a public photo on Ancestry. It has the place of burial as Church of England Cemetery Rangiora.

On the newspaper clipping for his death it states Church of England Cemetery Rangior
H. J. Gulliver which i am now assuming is the funeral director should i try to locate and contact them

Here is an email link to Gulliver-Tyler, funeral directors, who have been "serving North Canterbury for over 132 years" (so this company very likely had its roots in the firm of H J GULLIVER ??)

Mmm ... this is how the death appears listed, in the NZ BDM (online) Death registrations.

1909 / 1878  -  SCUDDER - Thomas - 76 years

His correct date of death (as is able to be deduced from this online listing), was
  > 7 March 1909  :
