That's the one I looked at as well Trish,
if the poster has the birth date it would be a lot easier to confirm

A James Cowper Chalmers married Burntisland in 1931
to Jane Browne,
=========================================================
in the Fife Scotland electoral rolls there are lots of listings for James and Jane Chalmers
Kirkgate 1933.
=========================================================
A James Chalmers , has a military record on a pay to view site,
he is a trumpeter, regimental number 344346,RGA,  but he gives his age as 18 when he enlists in 1914 Burntisland ,he gives his father as next of kin, cemetery lodge Burntisland Mr Thomas Chalmers, I think he was fibbing,
his parents married St Peter 1891, Thomas Chalmers and Janet Berry Cowper,

So Norah.

What potential marriages did you see suggested by other people?

Nora Maria Graham
Gender   Female
Marriage Date   28 May 1921
Marriage Place   St. Dominic, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England
Father   Patritii Graham
Mother   Catharinæ Coleman
Spouse   Jacobi Trainor

Maria Nora Graham
Gender   Female
Marriage Date   10 Oct 1927
Marriage Place   St. Dominic, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England
Father   Patricii Graham
Mother   Catherinæ Coleman
Spouse   Joseph Couper Chalmers
FHL Film Number   1936944

Go the dates of birth for the girls? What candidates appear in 1939?

I havent found anything that seems right.
The dates of birth  2  AUGUST 1899 for Norah (from bc) and 22 FEB 1901  for Catherine (copied from original baptism book entry).
If they were both in Scotland in 1939 it will be harder to find them. Thanks for your interest!

Yes, the could be our Norah, if she did marry Mr. Chalmers.

There is a Norah Graham born about 1900 aged 32 who died in Qtr 2 1932 in Newcastle Vol 10B Page 165

This could also he our Norah, if she didn't marry.  A certificate would have more information.

I think perhaps you need to buy the marriage certificate for the Chalmers marriage,
I wonder how many Mary Nora's Graham with father Patrick mother Catherine lived in Northumberland
on census she is Mary Nora ,

Maria Nora Graham baptised St Dominics 27th August 1899
father Patricii Graham, mother Catherinae Coleman , 1901 census she is downs as Mary N in Jarrow , and you state 1911 in Tynemouth, so I am assuming she is the one visiting the Conways

Yes I have just put in can online order for that marriage. I was confused because it says St. Dominics, that is in Newcastle not Tynemouth. But if she was still living at North Shields at the time it may have been registered in Tynemouth even tho the event took place in Newcastle? Also I did look  at freebmd! However I was looking for Norah not Mary.  ???
If it seems both girls leave England and go to Scotland I may pick up some more clues about Catherine, if they stay near to each other?
