Isabel Davey born 1855

Hi everyone, I am researching my 3rd great aunt Isabel Davey, born in 1855 in Armley, Leeds. She is the second daughter of Robert Davey and Elizabeth Chittleburgh. I have only found her on the 1861 and 1871 census. I cannot find a suitable marriage or death for her. I have found nothing in overseas records.

Elizabeth died in 1863 and Robert remarried to a lady named Jane some time before 1871. I can't find either in the 1881 census but in 1891 Robert is a widow and living with his daughter Mary Elizabeth and her family in Todmorden.

There is a person called Bella Davey in 1891 and 1901 censuses that I've ruled out (she is from London).

Following from the marriage Comberton found, Herbert DAVY birth registered 1867 Todmorden has mmn TIFFNEY. He is with Robert and Jane and family in the 1871 at Todmorden.

Have you considered the marriage of Isabella DAVIS and Henry SHENTON at Todmorden Dec qtr 1875? They are at Todmorden in the 1881 where she says born Leeds.

Their child Samuel birth registration 1884 Todmorden has mmn DAVIES.

Possible death  - Isabella SHENTON Mar qtr 1893 Todmorden, aged 38.

Have you considered the marriage of Isabella DAVIS and Henry SHENTON at Todmorden Dec qtr 1875? They are at Todmorden in the 1881 where she says born Leeds.

Their child Samuel birth registration 1884 Todmorden has mmn DAVIES.

If this is your Isabella then her husband Henry died 17th May 1922, left a probate record mentioning son Samuel Shenton.

Thanks Comberton, maddys52 and johnhood, I will look into these suggestions.

The marriage between Isabel Davis and Henry Shenton looks possible. It is the correct area. To know definitively I think I'll have to purchase the marriage cert and see what the father's name is etc.

Spare hour this afternoon so a little more info on Jane Pawson nee' Tiffney. She is the daughter of William Tiffenney & Harriot Oliver.They married 3rd March 1816, Calverley, Yorkshire. William's occupation on marriage image (on Anc* and FindMyPast) is Clothier & !!, as per Janes marriage to Robert. William was the son of William & Sarah Tiffeny born 12.7.1794, image on Anc*. William died aged 78 in mq1874
