Alice Farrar born Hunslet about 1875
« on: Wednesday 14 December 22 17:51 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for Alice Farrar born in Hunslet about 1875. On 16 Apr 1892 she married Tom Worsnop at St Oeter in Leeds. On her marriage records her father is Henry Farrar an iron moulder. I can’t find an Alice Farrar locally with this father. The two I have found have the father John Farrar. If anyone can help me with this I would be really grateful.

Thanks

1891 census - 13 Craven Street, Hunslet

Alice Farrar aged 16,  with mother, Emma, a widow plus 9 siblings ?

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

The address she gave on her marriage was the home of the witnesses to the marriage in 1891 census - John Edward Robson & Mary Robson.  John Edward Robson married Mary Surr (nee Howarth) in 1889

There is a Henry Farrar who married a Mary Robson in Leeds 1871. Alice was born I think in Holbeck in 1875 mother Robson. Emma is the wrong one. I discounted her.

So the Robson witnesses would make sense. I missed that. Thanks!

I also found a record for an Edward Farrar born in 1879 in Hunslet mother Robson, but can’t find him either.

So I think John Edward Robson is the Uncle of Alice Farrar and the brother of her mother Mary Robson. Both John Edward and Mary both had father Thomas Robson    named on their marriage records. I still can’t find any of these on earlier census’s though.

They also had another daughter:

FARRAR, SARAH  HANNAH     ROBSON

Sadly, it looks like she died in 1875, aged 2, in the Holbeck registration district.
