Melin adda and pentrefelin are one and the same, a large mill with severel millers working there.
Robert was miller there in 1841 c
Samuel was there in 1851c

Elizabeth eldest son james(17 in 1851) was also listed as being a miller in 1851 census.

i have just found 1861 c for robert still living in same area as a miller but has his birth year as 1802 so maybe more correct than the 1841 c .

there seems to be no 1851 c record for llaethdy??

That's why I drew attention to the 2 melins mentioned on the maps. ;D   Pentrefelin would have been the area as far as I can work out.  There are quite a few Pentrefelins in Wales

I do have a fairly reasonable knowledge of Welsh as I'm Welsh born and  lived in Denbighshire  until I was 18 so I  studied it in school and many of my relatives had it as a first language. I used to visit regularly until covid came along.

Ancestry is getting better for Welsh records but Find my Past and Family Search are better if you can't get to records offices.

There were quite a few areas that are missing from the 1861 collection. I'll check the listing of missing pieces.

I've just checked ~

You have to scroll down the listings to the relevant census.

Anglesey doesn't seem to be listed in 1861 but it could be that they are only partially missing.

I see that  your Griffith had moved to Llangeinwen by 1851 and recorded as a Miller. In 1861 he's described as a Miller and farmer of 10 acres

Looking at Robert's record and the pages around, I think that Laethdy has been included in ED 5b as Pentrefelin.  Should any other of your relatives be in that area in 1851?
