Jane Wattleworth circa 1678 - 1718
« on: Friday 23 December 22 14:39 GMT (UK) »
Jane is thought to have been born in 1678 or 79.  She married John Knipe who appears to have died soon afterwards.  In Nov. 1708 she married William Casement of The Kella, Lezayre, and died on 6 Nov. 1718 (buried three days later).

Was she a daughter of Archdeacon Sam Wattleworth?  Or a niece, perhaps?
Does anyone have a reliable tree for that family?
On the tangled web I found something drawn up by A.W. Moore in 1889,
but it doesn't look right, somehow.
Bagwell of Kilmore & Lisronagh, Co. Tipperary;  Beatty from Enniskillen;  Brown from Preston, Lancs.;  Burke of Ballydugan, Co. Galway;  Casement in the IoM and Co. Antrim;  Davison of Knockboy, Broughshane;  Frobisher;  Guillemard;  Harrison in Co. Antrim and Dublin;  Jones around Burton Pedwardine, Lincs.;  Lindesay of Loughry;  Newcomen of Camlagh, Co. Roscommon;  Shield;  Watson from Kidderminster;  Wilkinson from Leeds

John Knipe & Jane Wattleworth married November 4th 1702 in Malew, Isle of Man:

Possible burial:
John Knipe buried 27th July 1704 in Malew.

Jane Knipe married William Casement on 30th November 1708 in Malew. Cannot find an image, only a transcription, so difficult to verify this one:

Can't find her burial, but found a full transcription of her will on the website I mentioned on your other post:
http://www.isle-of-man.com/manxnotebook/famhist/wills/1719_jc2.htm

It mentions a 'Capt Wattleworth of Ramsey,' this seems to be his will:
http://www.isle-of-man.com/manxnotebook/famhist/wills/1741_jw.htm

Also mentions a relation called Mr John Curghey of Coolebain, who seems to have been buried in 1736:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-655S-4VF?i=47&cc=1784428

In terms of her relation to Rev. Samuel Wattleworth, his will mentions several grandchildren, but no Casement ones, so perhaps unlikely:

Jane was already deceased when he wrote this, but, if she were his daughter, it seems a little odd to completely ignore her 3 living children.

Arthur William Moore, CVO, SHK, JP, MA (6 February 1853 – 12 November 1909 was a Manx antiquarian, historian, linguist, folklorist, and former Speaker of the House of Keys in the Isle of Man. He published under the sobriquet A. W. Moore.

Secondly the title "Captain" probably refers to "Captain of the Parish".

ADDED:  He was appointed a Justice of the Peace in 1877 and was for many years the Captain of the Parish of Onchan before resigning in 1895.
